3 Trader Joe’s beauty products you should definitely not buy

I really love Trader Joe’s. It was so exciting when it first came to my Des Moines, IA and my husband and I had fun trying everything.

You never forget your first Cookie Butter…until you eat too much, and then experience severe gastrointestinal distress. Whoops.

I have waxed poetic about Trader Joe’s beauty products before. So many, are so good.

But damn.

A few Trader Joe’s products I’ve tried have been major fails, some serious do-not-buys, so I’m going to share them with you. Don’t waste your money on these, cuz these ain’t it.

Trader Joe’s Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream

I love eye cream in general. I use it often and I can always use more.

I had high hopes for the Trader Joe’s eye cream because the ingredients honestly sounded great:

• Hydrolyzed marine collagen
• Coenzyme Q10
• Manuka honey
• Hibiscus extract
• Almond, Argan, rose hip & marula seed oils

I’ll just be real; this smells like rotting bananas and makes my eyes sting. I think it even caused a little redness at the corners of my eyes.

Trader Joe’s Grapefruit Body Butter

I love grapefruit; huge fan. I actually do enjoy eating it, drinking grapefruit juice, preferably in a Paloma, cheers! I thought, why not slather my body in it?

Again guys, the STINK!

I felt like it was a little off, which was confirmed when I sat down next to my husband. He said I smelled like “bad breath” and that was enough for me. I actually returned it. That’s how gross it was.

Trader Joe’s Marula Facial Oil

I was really hoping that this Trader Joe’s beauty product could be the $7 alternative to Drunk Elephant’s $72 Marula Oil. It sure wasn’t.

It smells gross; 3rd product now that reeks. It also had chunks of I-don’t-know-what floating in it that were very off-putting and untrustworthy.

I returned this as well. Drunk Elephant annoys me as a brand so get The Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil instead.
